Sounds like he had a great experience, saw a group of turkey, had a doe come into range for him and laid it down.

Yes ping pongsize hickery nuts loud as all get up. I shot a hog last year under the same tree eating nuts.

You should hear them cracking and eating clam shells and shrimp in the coastal GA marshes, damnedest thing I've ever heard. Noisy as hell, but they are oblivious to there surroundings and you can get right up on them.

Good job squaring a new guy away... Sounds like you have a new huntin partner now!
