Can't get a gear puller in there
not a gear puller a pitman arm puller it shorter and it made for pulling the pitman arm

auto zone loan a tool. now the pickle fork should not be really bigger than the joint. last resort is to put the nut half on and hit the nut up if you have to pull down on the center link while some hits it up. unless the nut on the top the pull down and hit with the fork.
