Ok as most of you all know i own a Hardwood & Laminate Flooring Installation & Refinishing company.
Well i gotta say ive worked for all different kinds of people. All races, all religions, all walks of life. Rich, poor, and middle class. So ive pretty much worked for every type of person that needed their floor work done.

Man let me tell you theres a certian type of person who is just hard to work with. And i know everyone has their own opinions and own personalities. But this one "Type" of person is all the same no matter how many of this "Type" of person i work for. And i use the word "TYPE" because i do not want to call out a race or take a prejeduce in any way on this forum.

OK so yesterday i get a call from a potential "client". First of all i cant understand ONE WORD hes saying because his accent is so thick. So after a half hour of driving and banging my head on my steering wheel hoping he gets off the phone, I told him to call me back tonight. OK so i text him and i say "Hello this is Carlos, I spoke to you just know on the phone and i wanted to give you my email address so you can email me your info (location, name, address, square footage ect.) and i will call you back as soon as i get to my office.

He texts me back and says "Ok i will email you asap with all the information in a few minutes". Ok then the funny thing is... He ends the text with -NEIL. LOLL Really? I know for a fact your name is not NEIL! But these type of people i work for all allways have a name that you cannot even pronounce, spell or for that fact repeat it. lol.. Ok

Im like OK NEIL!. So then I email him back with a price. (i had to email because i cant understand one thing he says). He then emails me back and says "Ok but i will pay cash, you will give me a list of materials i have to buy, come do the work, then when your done ill pay you cash". I say "Mr Neil, I will come to your house today (at a time that is best for you), measure, give you a list of materials, and have you sigh a contract. Then i take a 50 dollar deposit then schedule you in my book. This is the policy of my company.

He then replys "NO YOUR POLICIES DONT WORK FOR ME, I NO LONGER NEED YOUR SERVICES"
I then reply "Thank you for your interest"

So this guy thinks im going to give him a list of materials, Then come to work, install, and hope he pays me with no downpayment or CONTRACT!!.. MAN O MAN. whats wrong with people. The funny part is it was only a 500 dollar job!!

These people just want to boss you around like they OWN YOU, and make the rules and control you like your a robot under their remote control.

I had another "type" like this 2 years ago. Actually it was a reference of a job i did for a client of Iluv2hunts wife. I did the normal stuff i normally do. the guy asks me what to clean the floor with i tell him the chemical he should purchase. He asks if i PAINT 1/4 Round. I told him No i do not paint. I just nail up trim and caulk. Most of the customers choose to do it them self because its cheaper and i bring the trim to their house, set it up, and they just paint it in their garage for free the day before i come. 100% of customers choose to do that of have it down when they paint.

So i get done with the job and the customer looks me straight in the face and says "So did you bring the cleaner to clean the floor before i pay you" I say "well sir i vacume and leave your house spotless, thats what i do. If you want a cleaning kit i can get you one and charge it to the bill or you can purchase it yourself. He says "NO YOU WILL CLEAN IT LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD DO!. LOL Yea ok buddy. So let me get this straight. You want me to take my time, go buy a 50 dollar cleaning kit, then come back and clean your floors? LOL.

And it gets better. He then says "when are you going to paint the 1/4 Round? I looked at him and said "Sir we do not paint 1/4 round, we are not painters". He then says "NO YOU TOLD ME YOU WOULD PAINT IT" i then said "OK NOW I KNOW YOUR LYING AND I KNOW IT". Wanna know why? Cause i NEVER PAINT TRIM EVER! nor hav i EVER dont that since 1996 since ive been in business. He then gets mad like he wants to smack me. and is pointing. Im like "sir did i not give you a good price on the wood?, did i not deliver it for free?, and did i not Remove the carpet for free?'. He then writes me a check and throws it at me and i tell him thank you and walk out the door. He then locks the door. Then i call him from the driveway and tell him that i left my fleece jacket on his couch. He then says "You will not ge tthat back". IM LIKE REALLY!!!.. I just leave.

And this is just 2 stories of tese "TYPE" of people. I mean dam whats wrong with people!!!???

I fully understand your rant. Most people dont even know how much you are actually hooking them up, then they want more. You try to run a legit business and people really only want to take advantage of you. At least like me you are not a car salesman too. All day all different TYPES of folks that think you are gonna screw em when all I want to do is offer them a great deal with great service. Most people anymore dont even care to give you their business when you treat them right. Usually take your price somewhere else to beat me by 50 bucks. Other than most rednecks people suck.

well in my business, when I "hook" somebody up, the wife, with a broken nose, the wife jumps on my back and starts beating on me. That generates a "special", 2 for 1 price. That is the "TYPE" I used to deal with.
