Man, he's good! The only thing I've seen close to that was when I lived in South Africa as a kid. Our neighbor had a gardener that would make these slingshots using a tree fork and some kind of red rubber. He could hit a bird in flight.
He was also a master lizard hunter! There is a type of big lizard (up to 15 inches) over there called a "bloukop" (means "blue head") that likes living in trees, especially dead ones. When it's breeding time, the male's head turns bright blue, hence the name. The Bantus believe that these lizards bring lightning strikes, so they aren't too fond of them. This gardener would kill 2 or 3 a day in the vacant lots around where we lived. Using one of his slingshots, he could hit them in the head from about 30 yards. He made some for all us boys, but we never could get that good with them.
