Here's a couple of home mixes
Mince a few cloves of garlic then cover with mineral oil. Allow it to sit for at least 24 hours. Next you take a teaspoon of *just the oil* and mix it with 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Strain through a cheesecloth if you have any floaties then pour into a spray bottle. Shake before each use.

Mix 1 part lemon eucalyptus oil for every 10 parts of sunflower oil/witch hazel. Rub or spray on skin

Make homemade mosquito repellent from any type of oil, such as olive oil, vegetable oil or eucalyptus oil. Strong-smelling herbs, such as spearmint, thyme and oregano, will also repel mosquitoes.

I am allergic to DEET, so I use the Coleman non scented repellents. Also hard to find, is cutter with active ingredient Picardin
It has rained every single day for over a week now. And I mean deluges here. If it ever lets up I am gonna do my quarterly mosquito napalm around the house here. I am usually mosquito free for a few weeks after I do it

The chickens don't help with the mosquitos either.
