cool. one of the pastures they use to lease is on SR 70 across from the FHP station, they lost the lease a couple years ago, right after they had seeded it. cant remember what they planted but the new lease holders made out like bandits. the cattle that are out there right now are FAT! the seed was insanely expensive. apparently worth the money cause the grass is thick, and so are the cows.
Anyone interested in knowing the grade of steer for $235, they're approx 350-400lbs. Market's down. On the hoof you can expect about $.60 right now from the buyers. I was just at Rod's and he sold most of his steers, but had a helluva lot of bulls and calves out there. Interested in geting something to finish out your way; call him, 813-382-8289.
Cattle barn in Reddick sells each Monday and is just north of 326, east of the interstate.
Finished table beef, we're ranked low, but overall stock production we're #5 according the the US Ag website. We ship most of our stock to the feedlots up north where they condition the carcass as desired and reap about $9.30per hundred weight post slaughter.
Yeah, but i slept in a Holiday inn last night. :tung

FLDXT; You paidt hat much, it must have been pure blood and preconditioned. Still got ripped off I'd say; been raising and selling cattle for forty years. Been brokering small livestock for the last six. Come up to Reddick with me on Monday and see where the auctioneer stops. I'll buy you a beer.
