Have you all ever bought steers from the ffa or 4H that did not make weight, right before the show. Sometimes you can get a grain fed steer for a good price.

Anybody looking for feeder steers or freezer ready beef, I have a friend ion Gibsonton that has freezer steers for $235.00 a head! Best prices in the whole damn state!

I read along on some of these comments and someone suggestedt hat Florida is not a big beef state. It's number five in the nation and was number one well into the twentieth century. We produce a LOT of beef in Florida; I've been at it for forty years in one way or another. The livestock barn in Reddick is the third largest cattle sales barn in the state, the Webster calf auction is great over in Sumter if you're looking for something to steer and feed out yourself and I regularly buy weaned calves in Bushnell for about eighty bucks a head. In fact I bought three brangus there a couple of months ago for five hundred dollars which averaged out to $.30 per pound on the hoof! You need help putting a steer in your pen, let me know and I'll get you my buddy Rod's number. I just had a roundup and sold my yearlings two weeks ago.

I was gonna ask the same about that fee. I assume that is not including processing..What would the fee for that be? I know a couple years ago I split a cow 4 ways and my share was like $200, and it was a pile of meat. And man was it good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DXT i have heard that too, about the cattle being shipped out west. its cheaper to ship the cattle to the grain than the grain to the cattle. i have a friend that raises grass finished beef. its good stuff, i just cant afford it. they get a premium price for their cattle.
