It is definitely beautiful. When I went out west we stayed in Mt Vernon Illinois, and then in Salina Kansas. It is like a complete different world out there.
hmm not familiar with this term (ex-city boy)
where was this sale?
I got a new deep-freeze that I have been itching to fill with MEAT! Cow, Hog, Rabbit, Deer, Quail, turkey to name a few species.
LOL
I actually found a HUGE frozen turkey on sale at the Publix for .59 / lb I bought up, and dropped in the Freezer, taking care of Thanksgiving day dinner....
But it would be real nice to put some wild game or Fresh stuff in the freezer too
Glad you had a good time
Thanks so much for the info. I have been to the state fair but was unaware of that activity. I will certainly do some more research on the subject before the next fair comes around. Should I search for 4h and ffa or state/county fairs to see if they will have "sale" days? and when?
Where I'm from, they have a sale barn every week, I think it's on Wednesdays....but they also did the 4H and FFA stuff annually. As mentioned, it's a pretty good time and it's a great way to get kids into and interested in agriculture and animal husbandry.
I hear there is a livestock auction just to the north of Tampa, I can't remember all the details on it...but I was going to start buying bunnies for my snakes there.....just never got around to it and ended up doing a massive frozen rat order.
I've always been mainly interested in the livestock at the fairs,I can't stand the midways or the trash walking around them. If you compare the kids that hang around the barns to the ones everywhere else you'll see why most of them turn out so well in life. I'm going tro try and get my twins started in 4H they really like animals and eating them as well. There's always some kind of sale going on where I live but I ain't staying up till 2:00 am to bid on a chicken.lol
