Thanks again to all who have done so much for this country and other countries that truly needed the help of the armed forces. :gba

My Great Great Uncle Herman Died in the Pacific theatre, and my Grampa that i take care of served in the Merchant Marines and crossed the Atlantic dozens of times with u-boats sinking ships in the convoy everytime. Grampa will be 90 Jan. 13. I often talk to him about his youth, as thats what he remembers now, stuff that happened since i was born is a little fuzzy.

I'm often reminded of what a guy on the radio said once. "When you're behind the big car on the road that's going 5-10 miles below the speed limit, the driver's hat is cocked a little and he doesn't seem to be in a big hurry. You can tell he's up in years. You think you're having a bad day because this ol' codger is slowing you down. Chill out. Its quite possible that he had a bad day once too. Or a week, or month, or 4 years - North Africa, South Pacific, Normandy, etc, etc.... His bad day ensured that you would have a single day on this planet at all." or words to that affect.
What really kills me is how a lot of people just don't comprehend what the WW2 vets were up against and what they did for all of us in the long run.......
