I am home with my son today and can't do a whole lot with a 3 month old, so I have been watching WW2inHD on the History channel. It is amazing the brutality of war and the effect it has on people.
Thanks to all the vets out there, even though I am sure none of you were in WW2, the ones that have served deserve all of our gratitude and respect.
I just heard a story from one of the sailors who was on a ship that was sunk off the coast of the Philipines and he recounted the tiger sharks coming in and taking the leg off of one of his shipmates. He went on to say how they had to cut the man loose to save themselves from being in a feeding frenzy.
I could not imagine being in a war, let alone being on a ship that gets sunk and then go through the shark attacks and floating around in the ocean waiting for help.
Thanks again to all who have done so much for this country and other countries that truly needed the help of the armed forces. :gba

Yep the men who served in WW2 are dwindling. We owe them a LOT for the freedom we still have. :colors :army :coast :jarhead :squid :usaf
