About 3 weeks ago I got hit by a rock on I75 and it put a small crack on my windshield. It was less than the size of a penny. I kept it in the back of my mind till this morning. The little crack is now about 12" long, so I have to get it addressed ASAP

Question is...
Do I need to file this thru my ins company? Or do I just call some joe blow auto glass place, let them do it and they file it to insurance? Been about 20 years since I had this happen so I don't know

Call your insurance and they will send an autoglass company to you.

Call American Auto Glass they will give you $100 and fix it. Atleast that is what there ad says on the radio.

I went ahead and called it into ins. They have it called into an auto glass place and scheduled for tomorrow morning. Now I will need to get my windshield strip retinted

I just replaced mine a few weeks back. I let the glass place call State Farm and it was all done within the hour. No charge.
