Guess I have a lot to learn before I buy one. I am confused on the different types of welders and their applications

its easy,just get a stick welder. they will do anything you want welded. you will have to adjust amps for the thickness of the metal and use the correct rod. Im sure you can pull up and copy a chart.

Is a stick welder same or different as an ARC welder and a buzz box? Sorry I am learning and not familiar with the terminology

a stick is great for anything say 1/8 to 1/2
For thiner stuf it can be done but you need some prctice
I have welded EMT with one but a torch is easyer
