I had a pop up camper once. The crank / brake broke and man what a pain the arse that was to replace. It had a a/c unit that when it sat for a long time, all the oil drained out. Then the florida heat cooked the top so it cracked.

Out of all of this, I learned if I ever own another one I will keep it in the garage where the elements will not damage it when not used. Put borax around the wheels to keep out carpenter ants. They like them also.

Awesome. I bought a used popup years ago and restored it. We have gotten a ton of use out of it and STILL use it!

I used pop ups a lot in Co & Catskill mtn's, & beaches. It looks like one of the previous owners had the right idea with the serious tires & boat trailer frame? With the right frame/suspension/tires it is amazing the rough places you can tow them into. Congrats & good luck.

I agree on the suspension. My first popup had a basic straight axle welded to the frame and no suspension, no leaf springs, nothing. Every bump you hit, the camper looked like a freaking kangaroo bouncing behind you
