I know man.. ill be laughing on tuesday.. trust me.
the old saying with poison ivy is leaves of three, leave em be. do you remember a cluster of 3 leaves? sounds like some type of contact dermatitis,I know it's not easy but scrating is the worst thing you can do, it not only spreads it but further aggrevates the allergic reaction. pat it if you must but don't rub or scratch. if the rash/reaction spreads to your neck area or breathing/swallowing becomes rapid or resticted get to the ER fast. an oatmeal bath might help but NO hot water. I'd try the benadryl tabs from an allnight pharmacy or 7-11 asap. its not like your gonna get any sleep like this. the pills come 25 mg take 2 and no alcohol. if you want the best advice call poison control, or an ER. trust your instincts if you think its a serious problem it probably is. good luck & feel better N.G. thanks.. ima get the benadryl pills tomorrow.. see how that goes.
Carlos,
If you remember I had the same thing several months back. It had spread so much I finally went to the doctor. Basically they are going to classify it as "contact dermatitis", which is a general term for a rash that the source is not completely known. The Dr actually thought mine was a fungal infection as to the way it had spread. Just FYI, poison ivy is not spread from scratching an open sore. Its only spread by direct contact with the plant
They put me on a weeks dose of prednisone and a antibiotic (no laughing please) used for women who have a yeast infection.
Cleared up in a few days.
Don't sit there in misery, go to the Dr
