my gramps that is still kicking, served under Patton. would like to get a hold of his M-1 Garand. will not tell me how he got it home. it was the one issued to him.
Never been to Pearl, but I've been to "The Wall" and Arlington more times than I can remember, and everytime, it just tears me up inside. Just lost my grandad a year ago. He was a B-17 tail-gunner over Germany. Actually did all 34 missions and I have all the mission photos and everything. Haven't dug through them in a while though. Still too hard. Was the main reason I joined the Air Force 22 years ago.
alot of history in Pearl. the 2 ships i was on were deep draft ships. had to enter and leave port on the high tide. and still would hit bottom. the Navy EOD boys would have to go out and check the sea floor every once and a while for unexploded ordinance. they would find some. hard to believe them jap bombs and torpedoes would still be there.
Its very disturbing to me the way Americans rallied in WWII and fought till victory, now after the terror acts of 9/11 we are a divided country, not much war support. The biggest thing on Obama's agenda is quitting the war before complete victory and fighting imaginary global warming. There's more boys dying now over there than when Bush was leading, and you never hear it on the news. God bless all you men and women who served our country,God knows we need more like you.
global warming..
just hearing that term makes me laugh 😆 😆 😆
Im sorry but the ice age happened and there werent any humans around. Let nature take its course again
