I made a little incline board to stretch it. It can take months to get it back under control sometimes. But you can relieve the pain eventually.

they sell a rocker type thing that you put your foot in and rock it back and forth. it stretches the tendon. worked for me and an Aunt of mine.

I got it bad last year when I was running every day. I had to quit running because of it, and conversely I put weight back on because of it. There are a ton of stretches you can do to help it. I made a loop out of a piece of rope. Looped it around my big toe and had to stretch my feet several times a day. It finally went away. My wife got it real bad. She went to the "good Feet" store and got special shoes. They eliminated hers too

I have done the stretching. I got this last year hunting reinjured it at the start of this season. I have the shoes now special inserts custom made.
