See my Drive by Truckers setlist on page 1...3 Great Alabama Icons....Ronnie VanZant was big Neil Young fan. And also apparently anti gun by the words to Saturday Night Special. I always thought Skynrd was worshipped more because of the events around the crash than their music. There was way better bands out there that never get the airplay today.
I always liked the story behind Skynyrd. Their gym teacher they would all be failures in life. so they started a band and named it after him. Rest is history.
