Ok guys. I turn 21 in october and am looking into what my first handgun purchase will be. I have shot guns all my life so I'm not new to them but, I'm not sure which one I want. I like the springfield models, and also sigs, but am open to any suggestions. I want a full frame pistol. Id like. 40 or. 45. But not dead set on caliber. Which handguns do y'all recommend?
Sig Sauer 229 in .40 Cal, that's my favorite!
I JUST GOT A JUDGE, 45COLT/410GA
x2 on the .40 Cal although I am partial to my Taurus 24/7 - 40ss -15, just got a Taurus Slim model in .40 for EDC but still breaking it in, the verdict is still out on this one.
Ultimately it comes down to what you want to use it for. I used to have more handguns than I could count and keep track of. Now I only have a few, and each one has a special place/function.
Are you looking for a carry gun, hunting gun, plinking gun, all around one gun for every type use?
An all around gun would probably be something in .45 Cal like a 1911, Sig, Glock, etc... You can carry it, it's just big and heavy, but will kill nearly anything you want to shoot, and works great at the range also...
