The past couple of seasons I've been able to post the progress of a couple of food plots from beginning to end, but things have changed a little bit.
I'm getting older and an almost 40 year old knee injury has finally slowed me way down the last 9 months. The knee injury finally caused issues with the opposite hip and I've been diagnosed with stage 5 osteoarthritis in the knee and also some (?) in the opposite hip. The doc said most folks would have been to see him about 5 years ago.
I tried to tough it out but it got to where I can't climb up on the old Massey 175 without a ladder, the smaller 4-wheel drive tractor has a ladder on it, no problem. Then there is the issue of hooking up implements, handyman jack and a pry pole are hard to use when you are hobbling around on a cane :crip .
No food plot, no garden other than raised beds, this is the 1st time in 40 years we haven't planted a big garden 🙁 . It almost seems sinful to have to go and buy peas and corn :no ! (kinda' like having to buy a watermelon, that just ain't right :no)
This brings us up to date. Tomorrow, the 24th, we're supposed to be at Bay Medical/Sacred Heart in Panama City for a knee job and some kind of shot in the hip. The doctor said, "You know that white, slick material that between the leg joints on a deer? Well you ain't got none in that knee, bone on bone, nothing to do but replace it." He said it would not be a problem seein' how it was my knee and not his 🙄 !
I would appreciate y'all remembering Miss Joy and me in your prayers tomorrow as we go through the surgery.

Farmer all that needs to be said is that as many people that followed your plot post you'll be sure to have plenty of prayers. I'll start it out with a special prayer and expect many to follow. You know, with all that spare time on your hands you'll have to sharpen the knife and start whittling some calls or decoys or canes... something like that. I'll take the first one for sale whatever it may be.

You take care of yourself....it's too d*mn wet for foodplots up there right now anyway. Might need to adopt a ground blind in the fall for hunting but your going to be ok. Looking forward to next years plots, lord willing. Prayers sent
DOn't worry about food plots and row crops. The land will always be there. Take care of yourself. Osteoarthritis is no joke. My mom suffers from it and it has made her wheel chair/bed bound. Hope everything went well. I may need a few joint replacements myself after the beating I took on the boat yesterday
Hope and pray surgery went well. Wish i was closer i would be more than willing to help out with the garden and foodplots. Take care of yourself and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
