I've got a henkel cleaver and the only thing I've ever used it for was flattening garlic. the rest looks good and I've used all. saw is real handy.

If you ever kill an elk or a big buck you gotta pack out, you will find a use for a cleaver and saw real quick. A pocket knife will not bust thru the brisket bone like it will a 100lb whitetail

Cleavers are also handy when meeting your daughter's boyfriend for the first time.

got a Gerber folding saw with exchangeable wood/bone blades that works fine. whenever I tried a cleaver it always left bone chips, plus it's so heavy I'd never pack it into the field. I've used it flat sided for cutlets or cubed/Swiss steaks or garlic but that's about it. shame cuz it really is nice quality and it's taking up space. wish I could find more uses for it. I've cut through pelvic arches and sternums with the little saw blades on swiss army knives or multi tools. I've killed plenty of much bigger deer up north and mulies out west than here and seen experienced people quartering elk but never seen anyone whip out a cleaver, a saw was most common or a strong knife blade with something heavy pounding on the back of the blade. even processors seem to use a saws all or band saw a lot. as for packing meat out the best method I saw was to debone it with a knife first, you end up with a lot less wt to carry (no bones at all). not trying to be a smart azz or tell anyone what/how to do things. to each his own. I'm sure some people swear by cleavers. and that kit does seem to have everything you will ever need. those old schrade sharpfinger knives you used to get for 8$ and a folding saw does it all for me in the field, bigger saw/knives at home for the final butchering. but in the cold we never skinned anything in the field.
