I guess they are trying to win my business back or something. And yes, I did get BPS new catalog. In fact, I've gotten 3 different ones so far. BPS Archery, BPS Fall Preview, BPS Fall Master and I got a Cabelas Archery, Reloading, Saltwater Fishing, a paperback of the Winter master, and now the Cabelas Limited Fall Edition. I wish I had half the money they spend on sending crap to my house. I know I sure do spend enough to offset that cost.

What the hell? I drop some coin there and I only get the stupid paper editions! You guys must be on the VIP list or something.

and mine comes in looking like it sat in the post office break room for 2 weeks too!

The hard bound catalogs from Cabela's are nothing new. I've been getting them for at least 8 years now. There are actually 2 of them every year, a spring/summer edition and a fall/winter edition.

I tend to use Cabela's a lot more than BassPro. BassPro is good if all you're interested in is whitetails and bass fishing. But Cabela's has a lot more stuff if you're looking to do things like hunt Alaska, the Rocky Mountains or Africa.

I remember one time I went to BassPro trying to get some reloading components for my 375 H&H Mag for a trip to Cameroon. Not only didn't they carry anything over .30 caliber, they weren't even willing to order it for me. So, I took my business to Cabela's.

Try walking into BassPro and buy a gun over .30 caliber. They may have a few 45-70's if you're lucky, but you won't find anything along the lines of a 375 H&H, 458 Win Mag, 458 Lott, 416 Rigby, 460 WBY etc..., for things like that, you need to do business with Cabela's or an outfit like them.

Besides, Cabela's also has an extensive gun library and you can drool over some really serious firearms. I've handled a matched set of Purdey 12 gauge side by sides that listed for $145,000 at Cabela's. I can never afford something like that, but it is nice to handle them and dream. BassPro simply doesn't offer the same level of equipment that Cabela's does.

Cheers :cowboy

The Cabela's is my idear book. It helps me get an indear about what I want, and helps me set a goal of what I need to save up for. Now, with the hardback book, I can honestly tell my wife I'm readin a book and not a catalog. That there's hi-class hi-dollar turrlet litrachure.
