Thanks everyone. She also has a kidney stone which is small, but has caused a blockage in her kidney. This has been causing her pain, as well as severe infection. It is causing the infection to back up into the kidney.
A urologist came in yesterday to talk to her about surgery to remove the stone and put a stent in. Mom(being 75, sick and confused) refused the surgery, unknown to us.
I made it very clear there is to be NOONE other than the nurses, CNA's and floor Dr talk to my mom about anything w/o me or my sister there. If they do, I will have their medical licenses on a platter. And I am going to give this guy an earful today when I see him. I am very pissed they tried to depend on a very sick elderly woman to make a critical decision. There is no reason he couldn't pick up a phone and call me or my sis to let us this procedure is basically life saving
Anyway, the surgery is scheduled for 2 pm today. Another long day ahead for the family
