Hoping this is a short stay. Looks like she came down with a staph infection. Hope they can get it treated and back home soon
Mom had another round of surgery today. She had a skin cancer on her forehead/temple she had neglected for many years that finally got out of hand. It finally got very infected and she ended up with MRSA staph infection
Turns out the skin cancer was a basil cell carcinoma...good one to have if you are going to have one as its slow growing but it had got quite large. it looks like they got it all out but may require some radiation later on depending on pathology reports. She had a plastic surgeon do the surgery, and they had to do a pretty big skin graft. I tried to talk her into a boob job, face lift and tummy tuck but she didn't see the humor in it
Will be in hospital at minimum 5 more days while they make sure skin graft took hold
This has been a long ordeal with her and danged if I aint bout wore slap out. I know she is...
hopefully this is the end of that for a while. my mom had 2 major surgeries this past year, and my dad missed months of work to take care of her. hang in there, hope all goes well and she has a speedy recovery.
She is our prayers.
