Hey Wingshooter,
There's got to be somebody with a bush hog within drivin' distance of your property, that wouldn't mind makin' a few bucks. It doesn't take long to cut an acre. I'd ride the roads and when I saw a tractor on a place, I'd stop and offer them what you think it's worth to have it cut. They will answer yes, no or later.
Hope you can find someone.
Times have sure changed. When I was a kid we would disk gardens or mow lots or fields for $6 per hour, tractor, gas and operator. Then we have to remember that was about 55 years ago.
Treefarmer
I hear you tree farmer. Riding around and trying to talk to folks about getting some work taken care of doesn't work too often. I did that sort of thing years ago. After getting shouted and yelled at to leave the property I gave up. I have a young fellow coming out tomorrow to take a look at the yard. He sounds energetic. After all the dust settles I may get a bush hog set up. After calling all the adds on Craigslist and getting two call backs, there may be a need.
Im probably going to have the same problem. Im in the Bushnell area and the wild weeds are about chest height! Ima need it bush hogged also.
I already know myself once i get my ride on mower im gonna try to bust through it. Probably tear something up! Lol

That is the problem crock, using a finish mower as a bush hog usually ends in disaster. Hopefully I will have my issue resolved today. Hauling off about ten mattresses and assorted garbage grass cut down to a manageable height and gate installed. I will let you know. Maybe this fellow will do a good job.
Nice. Where are you located? He might not travel to me.
So you think a 48" blade husqvarna 24hp will get stuck?
