like there is any other temp setting on the stove? then goes into the bedroom to watch re-runs of the golden girls until the smoke alarms say it's done.

Some of y'alls wives don't apparently read FOHAF! Mine doesn't either but I can do nothing but brag on her cooking skills! She went to live with her elderly grandmother after high school and learned how to cook. Very few disasters to report after almost 47 years, that's a lot of meals when you go to figuring it up! that's ok. The first time my wife to be cooked dinner for me, I took one bite and said this is out of a box and she got disappointed. I did not finish eating it, it was terrible. She really did not know how to cook and neither did her mom. The apple did not fall from the tree on that subject.
I said, I will cook you dinner next time. Her eyes lit up when I cooked a pot roast to perfection with the works.
I do all the cooking so I know what I am eating, if it comes out bad it is my fault. She does all the KP.
It has taken 20 yrs for her to learn how to boil eggs. Why some people have to have directions in writing on how to boil an egg is beyond me.
