What does actually cause the stone to form in the first place?

I believe stones are calcium.
I guess you get stones if you have excessive calcium from food/drinks or if your body doesn't flush out calcium as fast as others.

They knock you out and run some devices up your ---- and use a sound wave of some type to break it up so you can pass it or now them. Then they leave a stint in so the passage doesn't completely close. Then after about 4 days they rip the sent out

I've also heard that drinking a lot of iced tea also contributes to them. I'm pretty sure that's what caused my FIL's stones.

you looked fine running around camp. sorry about the "stone". good thing it did not happen out on the stand. the skeeters and flies would have had you for sure. I might have found you on "work weekend".
