Yesterday I spent the day reorganizing my garage. I moved all my freezers and fridge to another part of garage to maximize space........
This morning we get up, and wife goes and lets dogs out. She comes back in, and nonchalantly says...."Oh, btw there is bloody water all underneath and around your upright freezer"....
Shit
I guess the extension cord blocked the door and it stayed ajar since I moved it yesterday. They make the damn cords on these freezers about 6 feet too short, so you got to jerry rig them to be able to plug in.
Ended up tossing about 100 pounds of meat. Everything on the top shelf was thawed and wrm so I tossed it out. Everything else was cool or still gelled a bit.
Now I think the freezer is fried. I don't know if it burned itself up or what. I pulled it out and cleaned it, When I plug it back in the light is coming on but freezer is not kicking on. I've got everything crammed in my chest freezer for now
That sucks. I got a chest freezer that is older than dirt and I worry that it is going to take a dump on me soon.
just a reminder that Craigslist always has freezeers for sale at decent prices.
i lost a freezer full of grouper, snapper, AJ, hog and chicken about a year ago to kids getting popsicles out of the garage freezer and not shutting the door all the way. Now I check it every time I pass by and nothing goes in there that the kids would need to get.

I feel this pain and experience. I banned popsicles from the big freezer fro that reason!
