Out of all the small dogs out there, i like beagles except they can be kinda loud with their howling. Nothing that some training cant fix :toast

if you can go up to 18" at the shoulder and 40 lbs brittany's are very nice loving family pets and great hunters,pointers and swimmers, but they shed a bit, not too bad but enough
ill fire you a PM if i hear of any smaller dogs that need a home. my realtor sends out emails almost weekly of dogs she is finding homes for. she is big in to doing this, every year she and her husband throw large parties and you must bring a bag of dog food to get in, and she usually gets a couple of pallets of food per party to help out animals.
did you check out the humane society here in tampa. they are usually full of dogs. i don't like the way the the pound does stuff over on Falkenburg. to much of a hassle. got my lab from the humane society, actually a year ago today.
