there should be a paper with the mri film that has an "impression" of what's going on, as read by the radiologist. your primary is likely just reading from that. the mri may not clearly, or be easy to see exactly what happened a couple of years ago. next step is see the ortho doc. He may be able to find something on the mri or from a physical exam.
