I found out on Saturday that this buddy of mine passed away (I assume from cancer again). Hadn't talked to him in a while. He quit returning calls from me and another friend. I had even been by his house and knocked on the door when I knew he was there, and he wouldn't answer. He told us before he didn't want anyone to feel sorry for him and didn't want anyone to see him like this. Last I spoke to him was about 5+ months ago and he was doing chemo as they found another mass on the other lung.

He passed away a couple weeks ago and they buried him. I never got a call from anyone that he was gone. Kinda hurts that a guy I had a lot of good times with for 20 years, and I couldn't even pay my respects. I found out from another mutual friend from way back that heard thru the grapevine about him. Had he not told me I would still not know and probably still trying to call and go by and see him......

Firstly my condolences. Whatever his wishes were, they should be respected. My recent week in the hospital I didn't tell anyone for at least 4-5 days because everyone in the world will want to call you there when you are exhausted/ in pain/ you are busy with an md or nurse/ sleeping (if lucky) and the phone is always just inches out of reach. It exhausted my wife at home taking the calls for me. I, about all insurance companies and most caregivers feel that if you are up for visiting and chit chats, you should be sent home. I can't remember 3/4 of the people who came to see me/ or what was said.

Sorry to hear that Allen. My condolences to the family if you ever see them. At any rate we'll keep them in prayer.

Guess God works in mysterious ways. Ran into his daughter last evening and gave my condolences, and apologized for missing the services as I didn't know about them. She said, um mm mm the service is tomorrow. So I cancelled plans and went and I feel a lot better
