I know the feelin. My father-in-law and old man did the majority of the work on our lease 2 years ago (the last year the club existed), and only my FIL and I were members. One of the big reasons several others left the club the year before. Some people think that hunting club means they just get to show up and hunt.
Sounds like our hunt camp. One or two always bring up the firewood and the guys who don't bring any burn it all up when your not there. Show up to camp with no groceries and come to your cooler to make a sammy at lunch time.Never there when the power bill is due,leave before the dogs are caught up,Same guy always brings a friend with him.
gonna have to head up to my place soon. need to cut in foodplots (not planting till september). but need to cut them in. loggers compacted everything last season. fill feeders and do some trimming. should be about my last real work weekend. probably just head up in july or so and fill feeders. i feel your pain Dave, had some members like that when i hunted in a club. that was why i went and found a place just for me. alot less B.S. but , doing the work yourself can be rough. But, getting some work done this year, with the help of some friends.

Yeah Scott...when I wrote this thread....I knew I wasnt the only one who has experienced this.....just blowing off steam....and thank God...I do have some good guys that I hunt with that really look out for me and help...and take it upon themselves to go the extra mile...I called up to my neighbor two weeks ago and asked him about the weather and seeing any deer and so on....asked him what he had been up to and him and one of my other buddies up there were getting ready to go over to my place and put in a couple of hose bibs for me and run electric to my pole barn....and installed some receptacles and hung two light fixtures in the barn.....all without even being asked....its just a matter of finding the right guys....and both of these guys have land of their own to hunt....and I help them whenever I get a chance.....which is pretty often....I guess they appreciate it......
just got off the phone with him again this morning and he told me he took his tractor over and put some more dirt over where they trenched the water lines in....and also mowed my whole place....again....what a great guy......counting my blessings for this one......so I've got some great ones....just wish the other guys would wake up some time.....but their problem not mine...
If you ever need help with your place....like I said....I am always available during the week with a day or two notice.....I just need to know so I dont take a deer head out of the freezer to work on for that day.....I take them out the day before to let them thaw....but I can run tractors, and just about anything else it takes to keep a hunt club up....just let me know..
