This is the final straw. Right smack in the middle of Sunday night football, and it starts raining. Not hard though, just a normal steady rain. And what happens? The friggin satellite goes out again. I'll be on Brighthouse before the end of this week. My contract with DirectTV is up, and I can bundle the whole kit-n-kaboodle (phone, internet, and cable tv with HD for $110+tax a month. I'm paying $92 for DirectTV and another $80 for phone and internet. I've had it. I may rip the damned dish right off the roof after the cable guy comes and call DirectTV and tell them to come pick up there friggin garbage and receiver.

I used to have Dish Network and despised it. I was sooooo glad when FIOS became available. It is light years ahead of satellite

It's Brighthouse all the way for me. And, the head of internet support lives 3 doors down, so I have near real-time support available 24/7 for the price of a few brews.

Can't get AT&T Versus or Verizon FIOS, so Brighthouse is my cable/internet/phone option.

Anybody know if you can by an aftermarket DVR for Brighthouse w/o having to pay a monthly subscription? Like having the data recorded to a 1TB hard drive or something like that?

don't destroy the dish, it's your property ,you paid for it. at least thats what they told me when it needed repair. when it was working I do think it got a better picture than brighthouse, but it bites that you loose signal almost daily with these summer storms. I'm bundled with brighthouse now and it works alot more often, but when it goes out you loose everything tv,phone and computer.
