I imagine that some of them are making it. They just aren't hangin around in open areas where them boys are prolly lookin (open fields). There are more harsh conditions in Europe than there are in NC, and they survive just fine there. In fact, they seem to get bigger than they do here in the states. I bet if them boys went to the nearest agriculture field with a swamp/thick dense wooded area, they'd seem em at night, along with a VERY PO'd farmer.
