I always carry a compass. If there anything some one should have is a compass a map is a addition.

I flag to the stand thats all. They come down when the hunt is over. I dont have a gps so i need a way to locate my stand at 5am. I dont see a problem marking a trail as long as you pick them up.

Flags are fine one solid line is fine also... just don't do it 3 hunts before your draw to keep people out. Whatever draw you get use that scout time not others!
