I was my poorest in college also and normally we (me and my ex wife) ate on $50 per week as it's all we had left after the bills. I had a decent job and so did she. I was use to living conservatively anyway so it didn't bother me but it offended her to be part of the 'working poor'. I graduated college without owing a penny for it and thank God everyday because the situation probably helped me as much as my college education does.
I applaud you guys for the hardships and I don't know about you all but I for one learned how be even more thankful for what I have, no matter what the circumstances.
I grew up poor. Then history repeated itself when i got divorced. I lived in a camper on and off and jumped around places. I allways told people its nice to eat when your hungry.. but when i dont have money i dont eat.. Thank god things are looking up for me..
Glad to hear your getting back on your feet.
Ok i still buy allot of close from the salvation army.
I paid my own way thru college. That to me is normal. It not normal to me to pay for your kids college or there car. was not brought up that way. Out of 9 kids in our family 8 went to college and 8 paid there own way.
we all have our poor times it is all in how we take it.
boy there is not a thing to be ashamed of. i salute u. it takes a man to go through that shit u went through. all kids these days should go through that so they could think twice the next time they bitch that they have it so bad
