Today was the Great American teach in for our county schools. This is where guest speakers, usually parents of students, come into the classrooms and discuss their different careers
We decided to do something a bit different and bring in some of our animals and talk about farming. It turned out to be a big hit, especially with the little kids. We were scheduled to present to a total of 3 classes. Ended up that word got out to other teachers and they wanted to come by. By the end of it we had presented to 10 classes of kids. We took 2 of our rabbits, 2 laying hens, and our pet turkey. We talked about all the uses for animals on a working farm, even down to using all the poop as fertilizer in the garden. All the kids got to pet the animals. One of the hens decided to run off and I sent one of the classes after it. Lol, finally got her back.
Here's a quick video of one of the kindergarten autism classes

That's great! Looks y'all are enjoyin' a little cool weather by the way folks were dressed. Did you tell the little children how Tom was going to end up on Thanksgiving Day? :eek ( I know you wouldn't do that )

Well done.
