there was some 4x4 posts at the campsite this weekend, probably for clothelines or something, i told my son they were the whipping post and i had some ordered to be installed in the yard. he has asked me both mornings since the trip when they were getting here so he knew when to straighten up.

I too was drug. and for it all I am a better man. When I was raising my children I told them that if they messed up I would discipline them. They said that I could go to jail if I spanked them. I said yes but that was okay because if they put me in, they would let me out, and when they did my children had better be hid where god couldn't find them, because if god could I would. and then I would earn thier time. That was the only time we ever had that discussion. They both grew to be fine upstanding respectful people

LOL This brings back a memory I have of a time (or several times) when my mom or dad spanked me and I threatened to call- both parents gave me the number and handed me the phone... In retropect, they made me a respectible contributor to society instead of some hell-raiser.
