those deuces shouldn't be hard to find with a couple million flies leading the way, then move the stand and burn tree down.
so far the only thing ive dropped from a treestand is a hog since ive said that now im sure ill drop something next time i climb one lol
With all the stuff I've dropped over the years, I look like a damn blanket weaving loom, since I tie EVERYTHING off to the stand. Once, I even forgot I had tied off my backpack to the bow hanger on the tree until I got 8' down the tree and couldn't figure out what was caught on my gear. Thank God I was alone and nobody saw. It was a very humorous couple of minutes.
Oh, and I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have a ziploc sammich bag with my supply of "essential" paper. Have been hunting in some rather remote places and giving up any type of clothing would result in a shortage after 3-4 days. Pack in, setup camp, and hunt. And I only bring enough for the stay, nuttin extra. But I reserve that type of hunting for public land in northern PA.
I dropped my rifle outta my stand once. It was even attached to my lowering rope. The problem was that my rope was tangled up and I didn't bother to try to get the knot out. I thought it would hold while I lowered the gun. About halfway down the knot slipped and the gun went falling down. Now I know how hunting accidents happen. Good thing that I always keep the saftey on and the bolt was disengaged while lowering my gun.
Dropped a flashlight last bow season, it was pitch friggen dark too!
I have never used a climber stand in the pitch dark 🙂
