I started the Atkins diet yesterday. So far it has been good. Meat and veggies are right up my alley. No bread, rice, pasta, sugar, etc for 2 weeks. can only have 20 grams of carbs per day for 2 weeks
The worst part is no beer. I can deal without the taters, but I really miss my beers

I am gonna stick with it though. It is gonna be really hard this weekend when I go to the woods

My goal is to drop 25 pounds, then spend the rest of my life remaining at
-200. My doc says I need to be around 180, but I would blow away in the wind if I weighed that. I will be happy when I hit the 200 pound mark in a couple months. I got very close last year when I was hitting the gym every day, but I quit going. I will start biking here again pretty soon.

After 2 days of proper eating I actually feel better already

It's hard but stay with it you will get there.

Nice! I changed my eating habits and joined a gym about a month ago and I've dropped about 8 lbs but I'm significantly stronger and more defined. I started out at a fat 244 lbs and I'm at 236 right now. I'm not concerned as much with weight as I am with body fat percentage. My 2009 goal is 200 lbs and long term I'd like to be a cut/ripped 180 lbs or so.

Just by quitting my beer consumption,lowering my calorie intake, and taking bike rides every day I dropped weight FAST. I'm starting again because thanks to beer I regained allot of what I lost. I hear you on the beer thing. 😆
