I am usually not the kind of man to do this, but figured it could never hurt.
My son has had chronic sinus infections since he was a newborn. Poor kid has basically lived on antibiotics. AB's never really clear it up, just sorta maintain a level. He has had 4 sets of ear tubes and tonsils/adenoids out already in 7 years.
A few weeks ago we went to a new E/N/T Dr, and she ordered a CT scan of his sinuses. Scan showed that his sinuses are packed full of fluid(after being on AB's for 20 days). She said surgery is basically the only way to fix it
So tomorrow morning he goes in for surgery. The poor kid has been under several times for tubes, tonsils, MRI's(for a non-malignant brain tumor he has), etc but this one has got me worried sick. Ive wanted to puke all day.
They are basically gonna have to go into his sinuses and, for a lack of a better term, roto-rooter the scar tissue out so they can drain. Plus he is getting ear tube set #5.
I had sinus surgery back in Jr high (from a football injury) and I can personally tell you this is no walk in the park
Please keep my little man in your thoughts.
