Not sure if you resolved the problem or not, but Tiger Direct has some good deals too. If I'd seen this earlier, I'd have recommended trying to boot from CDROM if you created a boot disk. If not, and you had to buy a new drive, make sure that once you've recovered your data, that you create a boot CD as soon as ur back online. It will save you a lot of issues in the future. Also, if you want a stronger safety net, go out and get a 500GB to 1TB external drive, and set it up for incremental backups for the data on your primary drive. Just a thought. I've been through the fried harddisk troubles too many times to count. Lost my daughter's newborn pics thru 2yrs. Never again.

Now make sure you do like Papa J suggested and get some boot disks made! I've also found that an online backup service like Carbonite can be a real blessing if the computer has a hard fail. I've put several clients on it, and every one of them was glad I did!
