Looks like a driver error. Has any new hardware or software been installed lately - printer, external hard drive, iPod, etc.? Can you boot into safe mode, or is that when it goes into blue screen? If you can boot into safe mode, you can try to initiate a system restore to a date a week or so ago. If you have a Windows XP disk, you can try doing a repair install. I cant log in at all it does the same thing if I try safe mode or normal. nothing new installed unless when I shut down it did an auto update. I have some one loaning me a disk so I will try that today.
ok tried to to a repair with xp disk and it said no harddrive connected I may be done but best buy has some drives on sale for $65 with free shipping.
Yea, you may be toasted. Get a new drive, of course that means reinstalling everything including the OS. They sell a external drive adaptor gizmo on ebay and some of the computer parts sites. You can put the old drive in it and then MAYBE recover your files from it after the new drive with the OS is up and running.
