ya shooting paper targets in a range gets pretty boring after a while =/
Any kind of competition I can get into with my Ar-15? I have a Tactical milling ar-15 with a Aimpoint comp m2
there are several choices for competitive shooting with a long gun.
You can do Highpower sporter which is a set string of shootting at targets out to 300+ yards. NRA has a version of this as well.
Or if you want look for 2 gun and 3 gun competiotions. Two gun will require a pistol (per the rules above), and either a shotgun or rifle. you will have to find out about the matches near you. 3 gun requires, pistol, shotgun and rifle. This is fun comptition which test all of your shooting skills. Another competion called HE-Man, requires firearms of the max calibers, .45 pistols, 12 guage shotguns, and .30 caliber or larger rifle. NO the typically do not allow 50 cal bmg's :). typical rifles for he man are 30-06, 308, and the like.
look up 3-gun, nra high power, he-man 3 gun, and you should find some info on these competitions.
I know our club (wyoming antelop club) has these matches from time to time.
Good luck
