Greybeard, it takes a few years for the yankee blood to thin out. I've been down here since 03 and now start to shiver when it drops below 70, or won't go in the pool unless it's over 80. I still get a kick out of seeing kids in 90+ weather wearing long pants wool hats and hoodies.
Yep. New camo. Deer, hogs, and turkeys are used to seeing it, especially over by PCBFish's stand. I just have to figure out how to get my release on my wrist and still see thru the peep in that suit. Oh, and I have to watch out for poachers and old farts. Ya know, them old farts don't see so good, and I don't wanna get mistaken for a hog, or frighten one a them old geezers and get shot.

Usually the "transplants" that have lived down here 3-4 years have a harder time when the temps drop below 70 than us natives. I wear shorts/tee shirts until it's down in the 50s, maybe put on a windbreaker or sweatshirt around 45-50. As long as it ain't windy and/or wet, I can sit in the stand with it down in the high 20s for several hours with long johns, jeans, a t-shirt, sweatshirt and medium weight jacket, I just have to have 2 things - warm boots and a warm hat. If my feet and head stay warm, I can just about be naked.
up north I wore very little and stayed warm, but last winter I froze m azz off 17 degrees in homosassa one morning, guess I'm not finished climatizing yet. luckily guys like you and I have been blessed with good natural insulation, except on the top of my head.

Yeah, my daughter's been here about 6 years. She says I gotta 'lose my northern skin'! I doubt I will; I'm so covered with hair ('cept my bald spot) I think I'm part grizzly! I won't go into the extra pounds of f-t, for additional warmth!
I've sat for hours in treestands in heavy snowstorms or freezing rain. Not saying I enjoyed it, just that I've done it!
And yeah! Those folks with their down parkas, wool gloves and fur-lined boot? Must be making a fashion statement- they sure cannot be cold!!!
