Well, my wife and I got two free tickets to the Brad Paisley concert last night at the Tampa fairgrounds so we went expecting to see him go on around 7pm or so. He didn't actually take the stage until around 930 or so. What surprised me was the amount of drinking and booty shaking that was going on even in the parking lot way before the show even started...I know I'm old and have been out of the drinking scene for a long time but by the time the show started there were some serious drunks all around us. And we were in $70 a piece seats! Man, I would have been really pissed if I'd have bought those tickets and had to put up with that. The two girls sitting next to me were drunk to the point of slurring and spilling their drinks (on my left boot) when they danced and one even fell into my lap but saved the drink at all cost and it didn't spill on my head, thank goodness. Then there was the loud drunk behind us that kept trying to sing the songs but waaaay out of tune and so loud that it distracted you from trying to listen to the real music...and ended up elbowing my wife in the head when he danced. Now I would have jumped over the seat at him but I was totally out numbered...in my younger years it wouldn't have mattered though. If this is what the modern concert going experience is then no thank you. I won't go again. Honestly, I felt like I was in one giant juke joint full of drunks and bad smells. Now I've done that in my day but at a "family" event? There were kids (children) all over the place. Totally inappropriate in my opinion. Just plain bad behavior. On top of that most of the songs were about drinking or cheating on your wife... We finally had enough by about 920 and left before even seeing Brad Paisley but it was a great relief to get out of there. Back when I used to go to concerts any drugs or alcohol you wanted to take in had to be snuck in. Then you had to behave yourself because they would kick you out if you didn't. And I'm talking ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Doobie Brothers, Molly Hatchet, Atlanta Rhythm Section, etc. They didn't serve alcohol at all. Last night there were bar carts selling hard liquor and beer at the top of each stairway...pitiful. And people wonder why there’s an alcohol and drug problem in this country...

Sorry for the rant, just still a little pissed... :gba I guess I'm fortunate though...you know what they say "it's better to be pissed off than pissed on..."

I was offered free tickets to go last nite. After seeing my friends FB pictures, I am glad I didn't. Ive gotten claustrophobic around crowds, so I just can't handle that many people in one place

My nephew's girlfriend won two tickets and a ride on a party bus from Lakeland, and her and a girlfriend went while my nephew stayed home and watched their kids. Haven't seen a Facebook report from her yet, maybe she's still recovering! She's in her mid-20s, so I guess she can still handle such things, but at my age I wouldn't even consider it.
