Bossman, I could put several captions on that great picture but since it might offend some feline aficionados, I'll hold my tongue.
However, we have a bunch of barn cats that are useful in doing what cats do, catch mice and rats. I have noticed several cats that have marks on their side very similar to where the owl has latched on to the one in the picture. The barn cats are not tame, we don't pet them and only put feed out for them to stay around and do the work of a cat. They come and go and some never return. We figured coyotes were probably getting them but this gives us a little more insight. Feral cats are a problem and by feeding the barn cats, I hope we aren't too guilty of contributing to their delinquency.
