In the meantime,the wife gets her payback by racking up the credit cards and taking obscene shopping sprees.

True story. Up until my screaming stopped it a couple of years ago mine had a routine. Drop the kid off at school. Hit Winn-Dixie for the "sale items". Hit Publix for the "sale items". Be the 1st 1 at BJ's for the "sale items". Back home by 9am. She still shops every day but Sunday. She is a compulsive food and "needed" items shopper. I came home a little while back and saw a couple bags of chips on the counter and I flipped out. As I'm yelling I pulled all the munchies out of all the different stash spots. At the end I counted 32 bags of chips, pretzels, crackers, peanuts, cashews and such. Not individual sizes but the big bags. Keep in mind that there is only 3 of us and I don't eat that stuff most of the time. We have 3 freezers so full that you couldn't put anything else in them if you wanted to. We could live without shopping for 3 months easy. My bp is going up so I'm done.
My wife does all the shopping, and does a damn fine job of it. She works the sales and uses coupons well. Saves us a ton of money.
However, she has learned to leave the meat buying to me. She doesn't not have the eye to look for quality meats. Some of the cuts of meat she has bought in the past were not fit for a dog.
When it comes to grilling and smoking, that is my department :squid
Now I won't say that she doesn't save a ton of money with coupons and sales. However, just because the Tommy Bahama shirts are on sale for $70 doesn't mean I need 5 more so you can tell me you saved $200. :taz
