I have decided that I would like to learn Spanish, at least enough to understand what is being said around/near me and to be able to communicate if needed.
I have looked at Rosetta Stone and Pilsner (?) and there is at least one other called Flunex (I think that is the name). All of these are not on the cheap side, so I am hoping that someone has tried or used them before and can give me some advise on how they worked for them before I shell out the money.
If you learned another language in some other way, let me know that too. Of course if you lived in another country for 6 years and had no other choice but to learn it, well that route will not work for me. :tung
Rosetta Stone is pretty good. I learned my other languages living in other countries.
I took Spanish in HS and college. I used to be pretty good at speaking and understanding others. My recommendation is if you learn it, keep using it and stay up to speed on it the rest of your life. I have forgotten a ton of the language and I wish I had it back. I can still understand and speak enough of it to communicate with tenants in apartments I service
Honestly, I think Spanish would be easier to learn as a second language than English would be.
ALso, my teacher in HS was an woman who learned Spanish as a second language herself. I think that made a huge difference in the way it was taught
i once learned pig latin. learned spanish in HS and then learned a lot more working in resturaunts and construction.
Hablo espanol un poco, pero me no esta muy bien.
