My son left for USAF basic training today. It's been several months since he decided college wasn't doing it for him, and the military was his best alternative. So he talked to the liars, I mean recruiters, and decided to follow in his old man's foot steps and go Air Force. Now after about 7 months delayed enlistment, and 2 weeks of literally working his ass off to make sure he wasn't over his max weight, he is off to San Antonio for 8 1/2 weeks at Club Lackland! I'm sure he'll be fine, as this ain't his first time away from home and he's a smart young man. He should complete BMT a week or so before Christmas, and they usually allow them to take leave during the holidays. If he can come home, we'll make a trip up to Georgia with his PawPaw and hopefully let him get a deer. Then, since he is going into some electronics field, he'll probably get his tech school in Biloxi, MS at Keesler AFB. If he's still there in June, he'll have his 21st birthday on the same base he was born!

So once again we have an "empty nest", and this time it might be for good! Daughter is in West Palm Beach getting her degree, son off to the Air Force. Now I need to get rid of the wife in a legal and affordable manner, and I'd be set! :clap

Yeah, if I can get rid of you-know-who! I've got to deal with her and the voices in her head, and the things she does to try and drown them out. I've grown to hate the piano, the exhaust fan in the kitchen, and the portable radio she has set to some religious station. :2guns
