yeah definitely. Like i said, i do not blame the seller all that much, even though i wouldnt do it. I totally blame the buyers for this. People are out of control blowing way too much money on guns right now. I really dont see why prices for pistols went through the roof anyway. Why on earth would anyone buy a USED pistol for more than what the pistol costs new? Ill reserve one on buds and wait a few weeks before I do that. My theory in opening my mouth on that group was to inform buyers as to what they are buying is worth. Maybe knock some sense into people. If they stop overpaying, prices will go down. Nobody is taking our guns, EVER. This whole gun craze is completely dumb in my opinion.
I think you are 100% right - and this buds for you lol -
and for the Richard Noggin here who thinks you were wrong -you sir are a @#$%^&*
you actually condone/approve of some body screwing some one ????????
Let's please save the "@#$%^&*" name calling for face to face encounters.....
I agree that what some folks are asking for guns is crazy, but isn't the price right there in the open at the start? - so technically they aren't "screwing" anyone. They know what they will be paying from the beginning and if they do not want to do the homework or leg-work in finding a better deal, then that's their fault.
I think by throwing up the red flag for potential buyers was a honorable thing to do, but let's not hammer the seller too much either. If anyone on here could sell something with a major profit I don't think they would blink an eye. Their was a similar attitude toward land value not long ago as well.
I can't speak for everyone but GB and I USED to post our sales here so members would get the first chance at them, and we would price them substantialy lower than we would at Fl gun trader or gunbroker. all I got was a lot of pm's requests for info and pics and no sales, (a total waste of my time), then buyers would buy a lesser quality gun new from waly-world, likely for more $ after tax and ffl. but I still wouldn't gouge another member.
If you saw some of the price gouging on this particular site the Op is talking about, you would have a different outlook on what this thread is about. ANd it seems like the owner of that page is condoning it. I think that is the idea behind this thread. I mean just a few things that pop in mind...100 rds of 22lr ammo for $20. 223 reloads at $1/50/rd. Ruger LCP $399. S&W Sigma $479...the list goes on and on. There are a bunch of folks calling these people out, and the owner of that page is basically telling them to stick it
Yeah if you even come off as thinking someone's item is overpriced on this site you are pretty much going to get talked to like your the worst POS they have seen. I was actually expecting to get banned which I could care less since everything on there is overpriced. Yeah like nacho said, I like to think of these private groups and forums as like selling to someone you know personally. Even if they don't see it as that, a used gun over retail is just insane.
